The restaurant is called “The Barn” because it was built in in the same location as Smáratún’s former barn. The Barn is an elegant restaurant which seats 130 guests. Guests can either decide for a three course set menu, or choose optional dishes from the card. Vegetarian dishes are offered.
The resident chef is Ívar Þormarsson. Ívar graduated with special honours from the Kópavogur Culinary School in 2002 and recently took his master chef diploma. His last post was head of kitchen at the organic restaurant “Maður lifandi”.
